Atiku’s son-in-law regains freedom from EFCC
The release of Abdullahi, the Finance Director of companies owned by Atiku, came after his father-in-law condemned his continued detention by the EFCC, describing it as a price he was paying for supporting him.
Abdullahi’s release was confirmed by Segun Sowunmi, Atiku’s spokesman, on his Twitter handle Tuesday morning.
“Atiku Abubakar’s son in-law has been released. That is the way to go. Thank you is in order”, Sowunmi tweeted.
EFCC had on Monday confirmed Abdullahi was in its custody and explained it was investigating him for alleged money-laundering.
“We are investigating a case of money laundering against Abdullahi. We shall speak at the appropriate time,” EFCC acting spokesman Tony Orilade, had said.
